Health Screens

They say, 'Prevention is better than cure', on the lines of this famous maxim we at CMC screen our clients for the key risk factors and we combine these tests with many more to provide individuals with a tailored report on their current health.

Early detection of disease: treatment is more effective and/or less expensive
Identification of risk factors: goal is to modify the risk factor to minimise disease

A) Executive General Health Screen:

A typical screening schedule for an individual seeking an Executive General Health Check-up is as under:

Arrival

Upon arrival we will take you to a room where you will get changed.

Blood and urine tests

We will perform extensive blood and urine analysis in order to check the most important parameters. Different tests are measured on the blood sample, including a full cholesterol profile, liver tests, diabetes tests, kidney tests and full blood count.

Personal medical discussion & physical examination

A one-to-one consultation with our Medical Director will give us a detailed background on your medical history. He will ask you about any past or current medical conditions so that we can establish your particular concerns and carry out basic observations including height, weight, BMI, resting heart rate pulse tracing for arterial age and blood pressure.

ECG and Spirometry test

ECG is used in diagnosing some heart abnormalities and exercise ECG can help to show if there is a possibility of significant coronary artery disease. The spirometry test is used to determine lung function and to detect lung disease.

Detailed concluding medical consultation

Our experienced doctors will interpret all examination results during your visit to the clinic. Any further tests or treatment will be arranged quickly and conveniently thanks to our links with a large network of specialists.

Results

A results pack including a written report will be sent out in seven working days.

What to bring to the check-up

You do not need to bring anything with you to your CMC Executive Health Check-Up, as we will provide you with everything you will need. If you have documents regarding medical visits within the past two years, it would be advantageous to bring these along. Similarly, if you have any current conditions, please let us know when you book your appointment.

B) Well Woman Screen

It is essential that women have a full health screen. Over the past decade, a number of social and physical factors have been seen to have an effect on women's health. In general women are having children later in life, and for some this has led to the discovery of infertility problems. Cases of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have increased, as well as the number of women suffering intense menopausal symptoms.

A full Well woman screen would offer great reassurance for any woman worried about her health.

The screening process is broken down as follows:

Well woman screen: -

(excluding/including smear)
  • full history and examination (including weight, height, Body Mass Index)
  • breast and pelvic exam. A breast exam can reassure you about your own technique in examining your breasts but also can reveal any previous abnormalities that went undetected
  • urine dip analysis: reflects the way your kidneys and bladder are working and also can suggest the presence of an urinary tract infection

Blood tests:

full blood count (i.e. can highlight infection, anaemia, low platelets that could make you prone to bleeding, a immuno-suppressed state or blood malignancies), kidney, liver function tests, ESR (general marker of inflammation), glucose, calcium, phosphate, cholesterol profile - ECG (heart trace). Whist the heart trace is essential in a patient that suffers with high blood pressure, heart complaints or has had mini-strokes it can always bring to light undiagnosed heart conditions, possibly present since birth, but that can have a major impact on one's life if not diagnosed - Written report posted to you including all results, findings and recommendations

C) Well Man Screen

It is a recognised fact that men attend the G.P. surgery far less than women and often present late with their problems. The purpose of health screening for men is twofold; firstly to identify problems early on and deal with them appropriately, and secondly to focus on problems that are specific to men such as prostate issues, testicular cancer and impotence. You may have specific or multiple worries which you want to address. Having the Wellman screen offers a good baseline to the health assessment process.

The screening process is broken down as follows:
  • full history and examination (including weight, height, Body Mass Index); rectal examination if necessary (prostate exam)
  • urine dip analysis: reflects the way your kidneys and bladder are working, can suggest the presence of an urinary tract infection and can also highlight any possible abnormalities in your prostate.
  • Blood tests: full blood count (ie can highlight infection, anaemia, low platelets that could make you prone to bleeding, a immuno-suppressed state or blood malignancies), kidney, liver function tests, ESR (general maker of inflammation), glucose, calcium, phosphate, cholesterol profile
  • ECG (heart trace). Whist the heart trace is essential in a patient that suffers with high blood pressure, heart complaints or has had mini-strokes it can always bring to light undiagnosed heart conditions, possibly present since birth, but that can have a major impact on one's life if not diagnosed
  • Written report posted to you including all results, findings and recommendations
